Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to attend the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24, following an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying announced on Friday saying that this summit is significant as it marks the first gathering after the expansion of the BRICS group, attracting considerable international attention.
During the summit, Xi will participate in both small and large-scale meetings with other leaders, including a BRICS Plus dialogue. He is expected to deliver important speeches and engage in discussions regarding the current global situation, practical cooperation among BRICS nations, and other pressing issues.
China’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, emphasized that since its establishment, BRICS has focused on promoting multilateralism and serving as a stabilizing force in international affairs. Mao also noted China’s commitment to collaborating with all member countries to foster BRICS cooperation and promote unity among developing nations.
