Tension was seen at the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) office in Secunderabad on Wednesday as a rally was planned but stopped by police due to lack of permission. An argument occurred between MRPS leaders and police officials.

The rally, led by Manda Krishna Madiga, the founder and President of MRPS, was organized to protest against government actions filling vacancies in government departments without sub-categorization of Scheduled Castes (SCs). Protesters demanded that the state government follow the Supreme Court order for sub-categorization of SCs. Black flags were held, and slogans were raised against the Congress government and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The MRPS rally was organized just hours before the Chief Minister planned to hand over appointment letters to over 10,000 government teachers at LB Stadium in Hyderabad. These teachers were recruited through the District Selection Committee (DSC) exam held last month.

The MRPS expressed strong objections to the government proceeding with teacher appointments without implementing the Supreme Court order. Manda Krishna Madiga accused the government of betraying Madigas and demanded that all SC-related recruitments be stopped until sub-categorization is completed.

The state Cabinet Sub-Committee on SC sub-categorization met recently and decided to recommend the formation of a one-man judicial commission to study the issue using the 2011 Census data.
