A cleanliness campaign in lakes managed by the BBMP is underway. Cleaning work was completed on Wednesday in eight lakes across the corporation’s eight zones. Efforts included cleaning pavements, weeding, removing reeds, and clearing inlets. The lakes that were cleaned include Bairasandra, Nayandanahalli, Gaudanapalya, Kaudenahalli, Dorekere, Agar, Amritahalli, Chokkasandra, and Ulla Kare. A total of 175 personnel were involved, along with 13 tractors and 4 JCBs.
Officials have been instructed to carry out the cleaning work step by step. The Special Commissioner has been actively monitoring the efforts at Amritahalli, Kaudenahalli, and lower Bhairasandra lakes. Additional staff will be assigned to ensure that the cleaning continues effectively throughout the week. This campaign aims to improve the condition of all lakes under BBMP jurisdiction. The cleaning efforts are part of a broader initiative to enhance the environment and maintain public spaces.
