On Saturday, two terrorists were killed and five security personnel, including a J&K Police officer, were injured in an encounter in the Adigam area of Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir. Officials stated that the identities of the slain terrorists are still being determined as gunfire continues. The injured include Additional SP Mumtaz Ali Bhatti and four soldiers from the Rashtriya Rifles.

Following intelligence about the terrorists’ location, security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO). Despite careful tactics to protect civilians, the forces came under heavy fire. To prevent the terrorists from escaping, all routes have been secured, and additional reinforcements are on-site. In recent months, these terrorists have targeted military and civilian areas, prompting a revised strategy that has led to a decrease in attacks.
