They also addressed the collaboration between Russia and the UN and talked about the implementation of the Pact for the Future.

The Russian Foreign Ministry shared a photo of their meeting and highlighted its significance. According to a UN statement, both leaders exchanged insights on the conflict in Ukraine and its broader implications, emphasizing the importance of their ongoing partnership.

Additionally, Lavrov met with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, where they discussed bilateral cooperation and urgent international issues, including the upcoming BRICS Summit and the situation in Ukraine. Jaishankar tweeted about their talks, underscoring the focus on regional concerns.

Lavrov also engaged with various diplomats and officials from countries like Jordan and Sudan during the assembly. Notably, on September 23, the UN adopted the Pact for the Future, which aims to tackle modern challenges such as climate change and human rights, promoting global cooperation. The Pact was adopted by consensus, although a few countries, led by Russia, opposed a last-minute amendment.
