A hostel warden at a private school in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, has been arrested for allegedly beating a student, according to police reports on Thursday. The incident took place at the school’s hostel in Pipariya Kala.

The matter came to light when the class 8 student told his parents about the beating on the night of September 24. The next day, his parents filed a complaint with the police. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Suryakant Sharma stated that the student reported being assaulted by the warden.

Following the complaint, police visited the school, where they interrogated the warden, Mukesh Sharma. During their investigation, they discovered visible injuries on the student and conducted a medical examination. The police have registered a case against Sharma under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), 2023, including causing hurt and criminal intimidation. The warden is currently in custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
