The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the Works Manager of Yantra India Limited’s Grey Iron Foundry in Jabalpur for allegedly demanding a ₹1 lakh bribe. The CBI stated that this incident occurred on May 18, 2023, when the manager asked the complainant’s son for money to sign the Work Completion Certificate (WCC).

The inquiry began on September 25 after the Director of Vigilance at Yantra India Ltd. in Nagpur communicated about a complaint from a local service agency owner. This owner had a contract to provide 12 firemen and 6 fire engine drivers but claimed he did not receive the WCC for June 2023 and had submitted bills totaling ₹16 lakh for April to June 2023. The manager allegedly withheld the WCC and demanded a bribe, which was reportedly recorded during a WhatsApp call.

On Thursday, the CBI searched the manager’s home and office in Jabalpur, finding incriminating documents. The investigation is still ongoing.
