A daylight robbery took place near Peechi on the national highway in Kerala, where a gang of 12 allegedly blocked a car, kidnapped two individuals, and looted over 2.5 kg of gold ornaments, police said. A dashcam video of the incident, showing three cars surrounding and stopping another vehicle, went viral on Thursday.

Police registered a complaint on Wednesday, filing an FIR under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including wrongful restraint, dacoity, and kidnapping. The victims, Arun Sunny and Rojy Thomas, were reportedly kidnapped on September 22 after their car was ambushed. According to the FIR, the two were beaten, and jewellery worth Rs 1.84 crore was stolen before they were released. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
