A 16-year-old boy has been detained for allegedly stabbing his uncle to death following a dispute in Latur city, Maharashtra, according to the police. The incident occurred on the morning of September 25 in the Arvi area on the outskirts of the city.
The 42-year-old victim had gone to his sister-in-law’s house to retrieve his Aadhaar card and bank documents, which were reportedly with her. However, an argument broke out when the woman denied having the documents and started verbally abusing him, according to an official from the MIDC police station.
As the confrontation escalated, the woman’s teenage son allegedly stabbed his uncle in the back with a knife. The uncle suffered critical injuries and later succumbed to them, the police reported.
Following a complaint by the victim’s wife, both the boy and his mother were detained and charged under relevant legal provisions. The boy has reportedly confessed to committing the crime.
