The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted moderate rain for Bengaluru on Wednesday, with cloudy skies observed in many areas since morning. By evening, places like Richmond Town and Shantinagar experienced rainfall, bringing a cool atmosphere to the city.
The IMD has indicated that rain is likely to continue for the next five days, issuing an orange alert for heavy rainfall in coastal and hilly districts of the state. While rain intensity is expected to decrease later, on Wednesday heavy rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds is predicted for North Interior and South Interior districts. An orange alert has specifically been issued for the Dakshina Inland district.
The rain has not been limited to Bengaluru; Davangere has also witnessed heavy rainfall for over half an hour, bringing relief to residents after a prolonged dry spell. Streets in Davangere, including AVK College Road and Old PB Road, are flooded due to the downpour.
