Kurukshetra

In response to Mandi Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut’s recent comments on farm laws, Congress criticized the central government on Wednesday, claiming that the BJP is conspiring to reinstate the three laws that were repealed after extensive farmer protests. Congress candidate Bhupendra Singh Hooda remarked that Ranaut’s remarks reflect her mindset, emphasizing that farmers fought hard to have these laws revoked, even sacrificing their lives in the process.

Congress leader Pawan Khera echoed these sentiments, stating that the central government is plotting to bring back the farm laws. He emphasized that farmers in Haryana would not allow such efforts to succeed, asserting that the community has united against this perceived betrayal. Khera expressed confidence that the Congress party would secure a majority in the upcoming elections, forming the next government.

Following the backlash, Kangana Ranaut issued a public apology, acknowledging that her statement could be controversial. She clarified that she will now align her views with the BJP’s position, as she recognizes her responsibility as a party member. Her comments had initially drawn criticism, prompting BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia to state that her views did not represent the party’s stance on the farm laws. With elections approaching in Haryana on October 5, the political landscape is becoming increasingly charged.
