Bihar’s SC and ST Welfare Minister Janak Ram has suggested that the recent incident in Nawada, where several houses were burned down, could be a political scheme by leaders of the Grand Alliance, which includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) led by Lalu Prasad Yadav.

On Thursday, Janak Ram accused the Grand Alliance of targeting marginalized communities to destabilize Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government. He claimed this incident is part of a broader strategy to incite unrest and undermine the current administration. He criticized the opposition for allegedly engaging in criminal acts, including arson.

Janak Ram defended Nitish Kumar’s government, asserting that despite attempts by political rivals to create chaos, the administration remains steadfast and committed to safeguarding the people, particularly vulnerable groups.

In response to the incident, Nawada police have detained 15 individuals related to the arson that destroyed over 25 homes in Manjhi Mahadalit Tola village. Reports indicate that the attack, led by Nandu Paswan, was motivated by a land dispute. The police have since increased their presence in the village, and efforts are underway to assist the displaced families.
