Ahead of the Assembly elections, the Haryana Congress received a boost on Thursday as Loveleen Tuteja, AAP’s state Joint Secretary, and his supporters joined the party. Former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda was present for the event. Tuteja, who was initially a candidate for Rohtak but was replaced by Bijendra Hooda, belongs to the Punjabi community and his move is seen as advantageous for Congress’s prospects in the region.

Tuteja has been actively protesting against the government, often facing house arrest to prevent him from protesting during the CM’s visits. He cited issues such as water shortages, sewer problems, and flaws in government e-initiatives as reasons for his political engagement.

He stated, I joined Congress because they address the same public concerns I’ve been raising. Congress promises to resolve these issues, and I’m committed to supporting MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra in Rohtak.

Tuteja praised Bhupinder Hooda for his efforts in regional development during his tenure. Congress’s state chief whip and Rohtak MLA Batra filed his nomination papers on Wednesday, alongside Hooda, who is running for the Sampla town seat. Hooda emphasized his previous contributions to Rohtak’s development and urged voters to support Congress in the upcoming October 5 elections.
