Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das will be hosting the 2024 International Emmy Awards, becoming the first Indian to do so. He shared the news on Instagram, announcing the historic event to his fans and followers. On September 12, Vir Das posted a picture along with an article announcing his role as the host for the prestigious event. Sumona Chakravarti, who is currently participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, commented, expressing her enthusiasm for this achievement.

Vir Das has previously been nominated for an Emmy in 2021 for his stand-up special Vir Das: For India. In 2023, he won an Emmy for his special ‘Landing’. He is currently on his international ‘Mind Fool’ tour, having completed the India leg of the show.

Besides his stand-up performances, Das has contributed to various television and film projects. He has been involved in series such as ABC’s ‘Whiskey Cavalier’, Netflix’s ‘Hasmukh’, and Amazon’s ‘Jestination Unknown’. In Bollywood, he has appeared in films like ‘Delhi Belly’, ‘Go Goa Gone’, and ‘Badmaash Company’.

Sumona Chakravarti, known for her television roles and association with ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, is currently appearing in ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 14’. She has also worked in shows like ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ and films such as ‘Barfi!’ and ‘Kick’. This is her first major project after leaving ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
