Aarti shared a statement on Instagram, expressing her disappointment: ‘I was deeply shocked by the recent public announcement about our marriage, which was made without my consent. After 18 years together, I believe such matters should be handled with respect and privacy.’ She further mentioned that both she and their two children were caught off guard by the news.
Aarti revealed that she had been seeking opportunities to talk directly with her husband to discuss their issues in a way that honors their commitment to each other and their family, but she was not given the chance. She also expressed that the decision to end their marriage was one-sided and not in the family’s best interest.
Jayam Ravi, known for his role in ‘Ponniyin Selvan,’ announced the decision to separate on September 9 via his social media account, explaining that it was made after careful thought and discussion. He also asked for privacy and urged people not to spread rumors or make assumptions.
The couple, who married in 2009 and have two sons, Aarav and Ayaan, have been dealing with speculation since Aarti removed photos of them from her Instagram page a few months ago.
