The Indian Coast Guard’s Offshore Patrol Vessel Sujay arrived at Incheon, South Korea, as part of its ongoing deployment to East Asia. The four-day visit includes joint exercises, professional interactions, and an Environment Protection Walkathon. The visit aims to strengthen ties between the Indian Coast Guard and the Korea Coast Guard.

During the visit, the crew of ICG Ship Sujay will engage in professional interactions focused on Marine Pollution Response, Maritime Search and Rescue, and Maritime Law Enforcement. Joint training sessions, friendly sports events, and a Passage Exercise with the Korea Coast Guard will also be conducted.

The port visit coincides with the 20th Head of Coast Guard Agency Meeting. The presence of ICG Ship Sujay highlights the Indian Coast Guard’s commitment to addressing contemporary maritime challenges and promoting global maritime safety and security.

Ten National Cadet Corps members aboard ICG Ship Sujay will participate in an Environment Protection Walkathon. This event aims to raise awareness about marine plastic pollution in collaboration with local youth organizations.

The Indian Coast Guard and the Korea Coast Guard have maintained maritime cooperation since signing a Memorandum of Understanding in 2006. The deployment of ICG Ship Sujay is in line with this commitment, reinforcing bilateral relationships and supporting India’s maritime vision of Security and Growth for All in the Region and Indo-Pacific Ocean Initiatives.
