RTO warns against unauthorized stickers on vehicles

Must read

Following actor Darshan’s arrest in the Renukaswamy murder case, fans have been showing their support by pasting stickers, including his prisoner number, on their vehicles. In response, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) has issued a warning to these fans.

Additional Transport Commissioner C. Mallikarjun announced that any unnecessary writings or stickers on vehicles would be considered illegal. He noted a recent increase in the use of inscriptions on vehicles, something that was uncommon before. The RTO and police departments are monitoring this trend and will take action if any unauthorized writings are found.

According to Mallikarjun, the Supreme Court has provided clear guidelines on what vehicle number plates should look like, and any deviation, including adding personal names, religious symbols, or images of actors, is against the law. The RTO has actively promoted awareness on this issue and has registered several cases in the past three years.

Moving forward, the RTO will enforce stricter measures against any unauthorized stickers or writings, including those with provocative content. For first and second-time offenders, a warning will be issued. However, if the offense is repeated a third time, the individual’s driving license may be revoked. Mallikarjun emphasized that there will be strict action to maintain compliance with vehicle regulations.
