K. Sudhakar, Member of Parliament for Chikkaballapur, emphasized the need for officials to increase public awareness about central government schemes and ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives the benefits. This statement was made during the first quarter Disha Samiti meeting for the year 2024-25, held at the Zilla Panchayat Office Hall in Bangalore Rural District Administration Bhawan.
The central government has introduced numerous schemes aimed at national development, focusing on areas such as farmers’ income, women’s empowerment, health, technology, and scientific sectors. The effective coordination and performance of authorities are crucial for these schemes to reach all intended beneficiaries. Officials were advised to improve their efforts in this regard.
The Jal Jeevan Mission Yojana, a major initiative by the Prime Minister, aims to provide drinking water to every household. Authorities were instructed to monitor the quality of drinking water in accordance with established guidelines.
Regarding the Prime Minister’s Faisal Bhima Yojana, officials reported that 49,950 hectares of crops were damaged last year. Insurance claims have been processed, with Rs 2.51 crore deposited into farmers’ accounts.
Present at the meeting were MLA Dheeraja Muniraju, Rural Deputy Commissioner Dr. N. Sivashankar, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. K. N. Anuradha, Deputy Conservator of Forests Sarina Sikkaligara, DySP Ravi, Disha Committee members, and district and taluk level officers.
