On Thursday, Gurugram Police arrested Sandeep (26) from Rajouri Garden, Delhi, in connection with a jewelry theft valued at Rs 50 lakh from a shop in Sector 66. The theft occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday night, as reported by the shop owner. A joint team from the Sector 40 and Sector 65 crime branches apprehended Sandeep, who previously worked as a driver for the shop owner but was dismissed due to misconduct. Struggling with a debt of Rs 10 lakh from his mother’s cancer treatment, Sandeep committed the theft to alleviate his financial burden. The police recovered the stolen jewelry, a bike, and a hammer used in the crime. A theft case has been filed, and Sandeep will be held in police custody for further investigation. Gurugram Police have advised the public to verify the backgrounds of potential employees for safety.
