Srinagar
With the second phase of elections in Jammu & Kashmir approaching, Srinagar is set to cast its votes on September 25. According to the final electoral list, Srinagar district has 774,462 voters, including 386,654 men, 387,778 women, and 30 from the third gender.
The district, which covers eight Assembly constituencies Hazratbal, Khanyar, Habbakadal, LalChowk, Chanapora, Zadibal, Eidgah, and Central Shalteng will see 932 polling stations established to accommodate voters. Of these, 885 are urban, and 47 are rural. Special polling stations have been set up for various groups, including eight pink stations for women, eight youth stations, eight PWD stations, five Unique stations, and eight Green stations.
The nomination period ends on September 5, with scrutiny on September 6 and the last date for withdrawal set for September 9, 2024. Voting will occur on September 25, with results to be declared on October 4, 2024. The Election Commission of India aims to ensure a smooth and inclusive electoral process for all voters in the region.
