The Kengeri Suburban Police Quarters are reported to be in poor condition. The residential houses on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th cross roads of Kengeri suburb in Yeshavantpur Assembly Constituency are described as lacking proper infrastructure. The police families who live there are said to be facing insecurity due to the dilapidated state of the buildings.
Many of the houses, constructed years ago, are now in disrepair. Accumulated filth around the lodging houses has created breeding grounds for disease-carrying pests. Several houses have become unusable. The area is reported to be frightening at night, with the government accused of neglecting necessary repairs and misusing public funds.
Although a few lodges are available for staff accommodation, the majority of the buildings have fallen into disrepair. Overgrown vegetation and broken windows and doors have made the area unsafe. Snakes and scorpions are said to be a problem, adding to the fear of sending children outside to play.
Most of the buildings are almost completely dilapidated. Former residents have moved out and are renting elsewhere. However, police families still live in these old structures with no alternative housing options. Cracked walls and unchecked plant growth around the residences are reported to create an environment of fear and discomfort.
The police personnel are demanding that authorities address these issues to ensure their safety and comfort. The current living conditions are described as difficult, and the personnel seek improvements to lead a more peaceful life.
