Husband arrested for murdering wife and faking her death

Must read

Mehboob Pasha, a 50-year-old resident of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested by Bagalur police for the murder of his wife, Mumtaz Lannu. Pasha is accused of killing his wife with an iron rod and then staging the crime scene to make it appear as if someone else was responsible.

On August 24, Pasha, who lived with his second wife Mumtaz in Razak Saab Palya, Bengaluru, reported her death to the police. He claimed that he was away in Kolar for a family event and discovered his wife murdered upon returning. He alleged that her body was found at a nearby Seebe plantation.

The police, however, grew suspicious of Pasha’s account and detained him for questioning. During the investigation, it was revealed that Pasha had, in fact, attacked Mumtaz at the plantation, killing her with the iron rod. He then left her body there and spent the night away from home to create an alibi.

Pasha later returned home and filed a complaint, hoping to divert suspicion. The police’s investigation led to his arrest as they uncovered the truth behind the staged crime.
