The BMTC technical staff have transformed a decommissioned bus into a mobile canteen, designed to be stationed at any bus depot. The bus, previously part of the North Division fleet and having traveled 10.64 lakh km, has been repurposed into a ‘Bhojana Bandi’ (mobile canteen) by the staff at Dasanapura’s Central Workshop-4.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy commended the staff for their innovative work. The mobile canteen was developed to address the lack of dedicated dining facilities at new depots and bus stations. Named ‘Come, Sit, We’ll Have Food Together,’ the canteen features seating, ventilation fans, a wash basin, and drinking water facilities, reflecting the staff’s creativity and dedication.
