The fifth edition of the two-day state-level conference for Kannada medical writers concluded. Seven resolutions were adopted at the event organised by Kannada Medical Writers’ Committee of Indian Medical Association in partnership with the Kannada section of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.
Renowned Physician Na Someshwara, who presided over the event, put forth the resolutions: to ensure that activities of Kannada Medical Writers’ Committee focus on the development of Kannada medical literature through Kannada associations/ clubs, publication of story collections, establishment of broadcasters, collaboration with other broadcasters, availability of Kannada medical literature in medical libraries, emphasis on health literature in textbooks, and management of Kannada medical information writing.

The history of Kannada medical writers has a rich heritage. Young writers should be exposed to that. We should follow the path set by our ancestors and engage in the creation of literature, he added.

In his valedictory speech, Basavaraj Jagajampi, retired Principal of Lingaraj College, said the conference provided an opportunity for senior doctors and writers to conduct research with young and emerging talents. Expert doctors, writers, and eminent persons presented theses over two days.
