The Karnataka capital is set to become home to South Asia’s largest observation tower, known as the Sky Deck, announced Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Sunday. This project, part of the Brand Bengaluru initiative, will be a 250-ft-tall tower with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore.
The Sky Deck will be located in Hemmigepura, southwest Bengaluru, and is expected to offer panoramic views of the city. The base of the tower will feature commercial spaces, food courts, play areas, and other amenities designed to enhance tourism. Surrounding the tower, a park will also be developed.
In addition to the Sky Deck, the government is considering linking the site with Bengaluru Metro to ensure better connectivity. The project was approved in a recent cabinet meeting, alongside the Tunnel Road project, which are both key initiatives of Shivakumar.
