The Department of Women and Child Welfare has distributed two mosquito nets to the Vitihonnatti Anganwadi Center in Ranebennur Taluk to protect children from dengue. The disease, spread by mosquito bites, has become a concern due to the high number of mosquitoes around the center.
To address this issue, mosquito nets have been provided to the Anganwadi children. Currently, lessons are being taught with the children seated inside these nets. The Anganwadi serves 22 children, and although only two nets have been given, they are being used to shield the children from mosquito bites.
Repeated requests have been made by Anganwadi teachers, guardians, and villagers to the village panchayat for fogging and other mosquito control measures. The Department of Women and Child Welfare’s action aims to reduce the risk of dengue and improve the safety of the children at the Anganwadi Center.
