Shah Rukh Khan and sons to lend voices to Hindi version of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’

Actor Shah Rukh Khan, along with his sons Aryan and AbRam Khan, will provide voices for key characters in the Hindi version of Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King.” The film is a prequel to the 2019 movie “The Lion King.” Shah Rukh Khan will reprise his role as Mufasa, Aryan Khan will return as Simba, and AbRam Khan will voice the young Mufasa.

Sanjay Mishra and Shreyas Talpade will also return as Pumbaa and Timon. The trailer for “Mufasa: The Lion King” was released by Walt Disney Studios India, showcasing the origins of Mufasa and his relationship with his brother Scar. Directed by Barry Jenkins, the film explores Mufasa’s early life and rise as king.

Shah Rukh Khan expressed a strong connection to the character of Mufasa, relating to him as a father. He mentioned that revisiting the character has been a unique experience, especially since his sons are part of the project.

Disney Studio head Bikram Duggal highlighted that AbRam joining his father and brother in the voice cast has made the film even more special.

In the English version, Aaron Pierre voices the young Mufasa, while Kelvin Harrison Jr. voices Scar. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter returns as Nala, with her daughter Blue Ivy Carter voicing Kiara.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” is set for release in Indian theatres on December 20 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
