State Child Rights Protection Commission member Shashidhar Gosambe has directed Deputy Commissioner B Susheela to shut the four scanning centres of Shahapur on charges of conducting illegal gender determination tests. A meeting was held in Yadgir recently where Gosambe directed the DC to look into the matter, hold a detailed investigation and submit a report on these scanning centres.JP scanning centre, Quality scanning centre, Spandana scanning centre and Kiran scanning centre are not following the regulations. They have forgotten ethics, alleged Gosambe. He said a total of 34 scanning centres are functioning in district and most of them have not displayed price lists or doctors’ names. He said he has visited all four centres.
