Kishore Kumar, president of the Udupi district BJP, has criticized Congress for appointing what he calls an ‘irresponsible’ minister to handle Udupi. Speaking to source at the BJP office on Wednesday, Kumar condemned Udupi in-charge minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar for her delayed visit to the area, which had been severely affected by heavy rainfall. He noted that Hebbalkar only arrived after the rains had subsided.

Kumar also highlighted remarks from former Congress MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, who had criticized Kaup and Karkala MLAs as ineffective. Kumar questioned how Congress representatives can fault BJP MLAs for failing to secure funds when Congress MLAs are also struggling to obtain necessary resources for their constituencies.

Accusing Congress of focusing on constant criticism of the BJP and central government without showcasing their own achievements, Kumar said, The Congress is in such a poor state that they resort to criticizing the BJP.
