On Saturday, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, kick-started the election campaign in Haryana, unveiling Kejriwal’s guarantees for the state, which has been under BJP rule for two consecutive terms. Accompanied by party MPs Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak, and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Sunita Kejriwal promised free electricity round the clock, employment for every youth, education for every child, free medical treatment, and Rs 1,000 per month for every woman over 18 years old. The Haryana Assembly polls are expected in October.
AAP’s Haryana unit chief Sushil Gupta stated that the party is prepared to contest all 90 Assembly seats, aiming to win strongly and form the government. On Thursday, AAP announced its plan to contest all the seats in Haryana, responding to the people’s desire for badlav (change).
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized that AAP will contest the elections with full strength, reflecting on the public dialogue conducted in around 6,500 villages, where a call for change was evident. Sandeep Pathak, AAP National Secretary, highlighted the party’s vigorous campaign efforts, recalling the robust fight in the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha elections. During visits to Rohtak, Sonipat, and Jind, people expressed their desire for a new government.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, AAP contested one seat in Haryana in alliance with Congress as part of the INDIA bloc.
