A brutal incident occurred near Saidapur in the district where a son-in-law allegedly murdered his wife, father-in-law, and mother-in-law following a family dispute. The victims were Annapurna (25), Kavita (45), and Basavarajappa (52), all from Davanagere. The accused, Naveen (30) from Munagal village, is charged with the murders.
Naveen had married Annapurna four years ago after falling in love with her in Davanagere. However, after the birth of their child, their relationship deteriorated due to incompatibility. Annapurna returned to her parents’ home in Davanagere, citing frequent disputes with her husband over trivial matters. She stayed there for a year and refused to return to Naveen’s house.
When Naveen visited Annapurna’s parents, they agreed to send her back with certain conditions. During their journey back, Naveen allegedly stopped the car, attacked the three victims with an iron rod, and fatally stabbed them with a knife. The bodies were later found dumped near Joladadagi village in Wadagera taluk. Annapurna’s body was recovered, and the Saidapur police station has registered a complaint.
Police are investigating the incident and gathering more details regarding the motive behind the brutal murders.
