The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has sealed the ThermoVerita company, associated with Manorama Khedkar, the mother of IAS officer Puja Khedkar, due to an unpaid tax bill of ₹2.77 lakh. This action is part of a broader controversy involving Puja Khedkar, who used the company’s address to obtain a disability certificate from YCM Hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad.

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh explained that ThermoVerita India Pvt. Ltd. has outstanding property tax from 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, totaling ₹1.96 lakh, with additional dues for the current year pushing the total amount to ₹2.77 lakh. Initially, the PCMC issued notices and cut off the company’s water supply before deciding to seal the property due to the prolonged non-payment.

Meanwhile, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against IAS probationer Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar. The UPSC accuses her of faking her identity to fraudulently exceed the permissible number of attempts in the Civil Service Examination. The Commission has also issued a show cause notice for possible cancellation of her selection and a ban from future exams.

The UPSC’s investigation revealed that Khedkar allegedly manipulated her identity details, including her name, family details, photograph, signature, email ID, mobile number, and address to gain extra attempts in the exam, according to source.
