The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) advised Indian nationals in Bangladesh to adhere to guidance from the High Commission of India in Dhaka due to ongoing violent quota protests. The MEA emphasized that Indians should avoid local travel and minimize movement outside their residences to stay safe.
In response to the protests, security has been heightened outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi as a precautionary measure. Police presence was increased outside the office on Friday morning to prevent any potential disturbances.
The advisory, posted on X, noted that the High Commission and its Assistant High Commissions are available via helpline numbers for any assistance needed.
