As many types of health problems arise due to contaminated drinking water, samples should be taken from the water bodies before supplying drinking water. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan gave a strict instruction that water should be supplied only if it is potable.
He spoke while presiding over the meeting of officers of various departments in his office. He said that water bodies in urban and rural areas should be checked compulsorily by the heads of urban local bodies and Panchayat Development Officers.
He sought information from the officials about the space available for setting up canteens allotted to various taluks. He said that Tahsildar should take action on priority to provide necessary land for establishment of solid waste management units.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan directed that the nodal officers and other officers assigned to manage possible floods must be in the central position as it is raining all over the district including neighbouring Maharashtra.
Also setting up care centers; creation of revenue villages; In the meeting, the District Collector discussed in detail about the issue of validity certificate and other issues and gave suggestions and instructions to the officials of the concerned department.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Vijayakumar Honakeri, Planning Director of District Urban Development Cell Mallikarjuna Kaladagi, Joint Director of Agriculture Department Shivanagowda Patil, Joint Director of Social Welfare Department Naveen Shintre, Joint Director of Food Department Srishail Kankanwadi, all Deputy Divisional Officers and Tahsildars were present in the meeting.
