Kamal Haasan and Shankar Reunite After 28 Years for ‘Indian 2’

Kamal Haasan and Shankar, two stalwarts of South Indian cinema, reunite after 28 years for ‘Indian 2’. The highly anticipated sequel is set to release worldwide on July 12, promising a grand opening across the globe. In the USA, premieres will kick off at 3:30 AM IST, aligning with the film’s early morning First Day First Show (FDFS) tradition.

In India, the FDFS screenings for ‘Indian 2’ will commence at 6 AM, with early morning shows planned in Kerala, Telugu states, and North India. However, in Tamil Nadu, the screenings will start at 9 AM, as special morning shows were denied permission by the state government. Instead, the government has granted approval for the film to run five shows daily for the initial three days.

This special permission is expected to bolster ‘Indian 2’s box office numbers on its opening day, potentially marking a significant milestone in Kamal Haasan’s career. Notably, ‘Varisu’ and ‘Thunivu’ were the last Tamil films to have early morning shows in Tamil Nadu before a ban was imposed following incidents during the 2023 Pongal clash.

‘Indian 2’ holds great promise as a blockbuster and eagerly awaits its release amidst high anticipation from fans and the film industry alike.
