SP Nataraj said the case was regarding deputation at a police guest house, with the accused demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs18,000. The complainant, a constable in the same battalion, accused Mohammed Aris of demanding a bribe.

The complainant had been paying Rs 6,000 monthly, totalling Rs 50,000 so far.
