Siemens Ltd. and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) have secured a significant contract worth around Rs 766 crore from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited. This contract is for electrifying Phase 2 of the Bengaluru Metro project. Siemens’ portion of the contract amounts to around Rs 558 crore. Their responsibilities include designing, engineering, installing, and commissioning rail electrification technologies, along with a digital solution featuring Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. The project encompasses 30 stations and spans 58 kilometers, linking Bengaluru Airport terminal to Central Silk Board via KR Puram, along with two depots. This achievement expands Siemens’ presence to 11 of the 20 Indian cities with metro systems.
