The Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission visited Kalaburggi Women’s Hostel, noting concerns about contaminated water supply through the hostel’s tank. Responding to this, the Rural Development Minister stated that the issue has been resolved, and arrangements for clean drinking water have been made. Survey work is underway to raise awareness about guarantee schemes and gather feedback from beneficiaries across the state, covering about 5 crore people in 84,52,317 families.
At district and taluk levels, a task force has been established to monitor drinking water quality, with numerous testing kits available for detecting contamination. Inspection teams have visited 42,945 inhabited areas and issued certificates. Plans are being drafted to repair deteriorating clean water facilities, following inspections already conducted. Efforts are being made to ensure villages have access to clean drinking water.
In the state, 92 sub-registration and 15 district registration offices operate from rented buildings, prompting calls for permanent facilities, especially in Bengaluru urban areas under BBMP jurisdiction. The Deputy Chief Minister, Industries Minister, Home Minister, Energy Minister, along with all Cabinet members, the Chief Secretary, Deputy Chief Secretary, senior officials, and District Deputy Commissioners were present at the meeting.
