Woman Dies Falling Into Ditch While Crossing Foot Bridge, RM Manjunatha Gowda Expresses Condolence

Shasikala, a resident of Chikali village in Hosanagar taluk under Tirthahalli assembly constituency, passed away after falling into a ditch while crossing a footbridge made of walnut boxes, according to Manjunath Gowda.
Footbridges are being constructed across the Malnad districts on the recommendation of MLAs by the Malenadu Region Development Board. In the board’s plan for the year 2024-25, footbridges have been prioritized, with a scheduled meeting of all board members by the end of July to discuss and make decisions. Information regarding the construction of a footbridge at the incident site in Kodale has already been received, and steps are being taken for its construction with the board’s assistance.
MLAs, while proposing projects for their grants, have emphasized the need for numerous footpaths due to heavy rainfall in the hilly districts during the monsoon season, according to concerned MLAs.
