Basanagouda Badarli Elected Unopposed As MLC

Congress candidate Baanagouda Badarli of Raichur district was elected as MLC unopposed. The seat fell vacant due to resignation of Jagadish Shettar.
Jaadish Shettar, who was earlier elected as MLC from Congress resigned on January 25 after rejoining BJP. The term of office will expire on June 14, 2028.
As only Basanagouda Badarli had submitted his nomination papers, which were found in order, was declared as elected by MK Vishalakshmi, Returning Officer, Bye-election to the Legislative Council and Secretary of Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
