With a rise in cybercrimes, Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police N Yathish, said that his priority will be spreading awareness against cyber crime in rural areas.  We will soon plan and implement awareness drives, he said.
Discussing his priorities for the district, he stated, a lot of things need to be done, and a lot of things have been done.
The priority will be to maintain law and order, and the peace that is prevailing right now. My predecessor, CB Ryshyanth, has ensured that the district remains peaceful, and we intend to continue the same.
Yathish stressed on the need to raise awareness among rural masses about the rise in cybercrimes, which is an area of concern everywhere.
Basic policing will continue to be a priority along with people-friendly policing. We will attend to everyone who visits the police station, and ensure they do not have to wait unnecessarily or are made to run around. We will ensure that the police are not on the wrong side of the law at any point in time. We need to maintain our integrity and expect others to adhere to the law, he said.
A 2016 batch IPS officer, Yathish was previously posted in Mandya, where he served for two years and eight months. Prior to that, he worked as the Superintendent of Police in Gadag.
