Police officials disclosed that those accused in the plot to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan had meticulously planned to strike during a film shoot, according to a chargesheet filed in the case. The investigation uncovered that Lawrence Bishnoi, a jailed gangster, had allegedly paid Rs 25 lakh as a contract for the attack, aiming to use sophisticated weaponry like AK-47s smuggled from Pakistan.

Panvel Town police in Navi Mumbai submitted a comprehensive 350-page chargesheet to a magistrate court on June 21, naming five arrested suspects: Dhananjay Tapsing alias Ajay Kashyap (28), Gautam Bhatia (29), Vaspi Mehmood Khan alias China (36), Rizwan Hussain alias Javed Khan (25), and Deepak Hawasing alias John (30). Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, and Goldy Brar are wanted in connection with the case.

The planned attack was intended to occur either during a movie shoot or when the actor was departing his Panvel farmhouse, the official disclosed. Details within the chargesheet outline the plot extensively, including plans for the attack and the escape route. It features an analysis of intelligence gathered, as well as records of mobile phone activities such as WhatsApp chats, audio and video calls, and tower locations linked to the accused.

The investigation initially surfaced in April when Panvel Town police exposed an alleged conspiracy by Bishnoi gang members to eliminate the actor. Evidence includes a video call conversation between gang member Ajay Kashyap and another suspect, shedding light on the sinister scheme.
