Bengaluru
The demand for Chief Minister’s resignation and a CBI investigation in connection with the Valmiki Corporation scam, which has spread to multiple states, was made by Legislative Council member CT Ravi. He expressed concerns during a media conference at the BJP state office, labeling it as a significant scandal within the Chief Minister’s department. Ravi alleged that funds were looted through full transfer, questioning the Chief Minister’s moral standing in the matter. He emphasized the need for accountability and stated that a movement was initiated to press for the Chief Minister’s resignation.
Ravi expressed skepticism about the government’s internal investigation, citing the widespread nature of the scam involving individuals from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He noted that the Union Bank of India has requested a CBI probe but questioned why the Karnataka government had not officially handed over the case.
Murali, a relative of Nagendra and candidate from Siraguppa, called for an investigation into Nagendra’s role. Allegations were made against Nekkunti Nagaraj for involvement in corporate activities and embezzlement, accusing his father-in-law of securing a hostel food supply contract without proper qualifications. Ravi demanded a thorough investigation into the flow of money into over 700 accounts and urged for the case to be transferred to the CBI, considering its multi-state implications involving Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
State Media Co-Convenor Prashant Kedenji was also present during the media conference.
