In a recent media conference at the District Superintendent of Police’s office, it was revealed that the district police are utilizing advanced technology to oversee traffic violations and address road accidents. Approximately 300 road accidents have occurred this year, resulting in 118 fatalities and 436 serious injuries. The technology, including speed laser guns and breath alcohol analyzer devices provided by the CTRS office, aims to curb such incidents and enforce traffic regulations.

The speed laser guns, equipped with digital features, automatically record details like date, sound levels, location, and vehicle registration numbers when traffic rules are breached. These devices are portable and used for various offenses such as dangerous driving, speeding, mobile phone use while driving, and driving under the influence. They help in gathering evidence without unnecessary confrontation with motorists.Police officers and staff have undergone training to operate these devices effectively. The district police department emphasizes public awareness on road safety, urging adherence to traffic rules including wearing helmets and seat belts for safety. Demonstrations of the speed laser guns and breath alcohol analyzer equipment were conducted by Police Inspector Ayyanagowda Patil at the Traffic Police Station, attended by senior police officials and staff members.
