A couple of software engineers in Bengaluru were left stunned after opening a package they ordered from Amazon, only to discover a live cobra inside instead of the Xbox controller they had expected.
The incident, which unfolded on Sarjapur Road, saw the couple receiving the package directly from the delivery partner, not left outside their residence. Fortunately, the snake, suspected to be a spectacled cobra, was securely immobilized by the packaging tape, averting any potential harm.
We ordered an Xbox controller and were shocked to find a live snake inside the package. Despite the danger, Amazon’s customer support kept us on hold for over two hours, leaving us to manage the situation ourselves in the middle of the night, the couple recounted, highlighting their frustration with the ordeal.
Although the couple received a full refund, they expressed deep concern over Amazon’s lack of accountability. “This incident poses serious questions about safety protocols in Amazon’s transportation and warehousing practices. Where is the accountability for such a dangerous oversight?” they questioned, urging for greater vigilance and responsibility in online retail operations.
