ADGP Orders Removal of High-Intensity LED Lights from Vehicles

Must read

Alok Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (Traffic and Road Safety), has mandated that all vehicles must comply with the Central Motor Vehicles Act by using standard headlights instead of high-intensity LED lights.

The installation of LED lights emitting excessive brightness has caused significant discomfort for other motorists. To address this issue, Kumar has ordered all motorists to adhere to the prescribed headlight standards as per the Central Motor Vehicles Act. Non-compliance will result in legal action against offenders.

Kumar has instructed unit officers to monitor vehicles in their areas closely. He has also directed a special enforcement drive in July to identify and penalize vehicles equipped with overly bright, blinking LED lights.
