Amidst growing concerns over the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) corruption scandal, the All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO) took the lead in organizing a protest at Freedom Park on Tuesday. The demonstration, attended by agitated students and parents, aimed to condemn the malpractice and demand an impartial judicial inquiry along with stringent punishment for all involved culprits.

AIDSO State Secretary, Ajay Kamath, delivered a fervent address, condemning the NEET-UG examination scam and emphasizing the urgent need for a transparent and accountable education system. Kamath highlighted the detrimental impact of the coaching mafia on the accessibility of education, particularly for economically disadvantaged students. Drawing from Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, he underscored the significance of value-based education in shaping individuals.

Following Kamath’s address, Bengaluru district president Apoorva outlined the disturbing details of the NEET scandal, including question paper leaks and suspiciously high scores. Apoorva raised concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process, citing instances of arrests related to the paper leak and anomalies in score distributions. The protest also brought to light discrepancies in the awarding of grace marks, further fueling doubts about the fairness of the exam.

Representatives from various colleges joined the protest, reflecting the widespread discontent and demand for accountability within the student community. Under the leadership of AIDSO, the protest underscored the collective resolve to combat corruption and uphold the principles of fairness and transparency in educational institutions.
