Lakshmi Hebbalkar Reviews Women And Child Development Programs

Minister of Women and Child Development, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, chaired a progress review meeting on Tuesday to assess the department’s initiatives for the fiscal year 2024-25. The meeting, held at the Minister’s office.

During the session, Minister Hebbalkar scrutinized the allocation of grants for the upcoming year and received comprehensive updates on the status of key schemes. Among the programs under review were the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), Stree Shakti Scheme, Women’s Welfare, Child Welfare, and Griha Lakshmi. Emphasizing the importance of expeditiously completing pending projects, Minister Hebbalkar stressed the need for timely delivery of benefits to beneficiaries.

Crucial officials in attendance included ICDS Director MR Ravikumar and Director of Disabled and Senior Citizens Empowerment Department, N. Siddeshwar. Additionally, senior officers Pushpa Raikar, Maitri, and Basavaraju provided insights into the progress of the department’s initiatives. The Minister’s Private Secretary, Vishwanath, and Special Duty Officer Nishchal BH also contributed to the comprehensive review.
