Chikkamagalur
 An incident took place near Hebbe waterfall in Tarikere taluk of the district where a youth slipped and fell while clicking a selfie near the waterfall. The deceased has been identified as Shravan (25) hailing from Hyderabad.
Deceased Shravan had come on a trip from Hyderabad with his friend. The two who had visited Chikkamagaluru’s Mullaiyanagiri, Dattapeeth, Chatikere, Kallattigari, Kemmannugundi visited Hebbe Falls today. While standing on the rock and clicking a selfie, he slipped and fell from the rock into the water.
Immediately, his friend and other tourists lifted Shravan up. At that time, he had a serious head injury. Arrangements were made to bring him to Tarikere Taluk Hospital as he was breathing. However, as it was too late to bring him to the hospital, he was found dead on reaching the hospital.
Had the water level in the waterfall been higher, the young man would not have died. Police sources said that he died due to serious head injury as soon as he fell from the top due to low water level. Lingadahalli police visited the place and conducted an inspection and registered a complaint.
