The digital journey of Tamil film ‘Star’ has commenced, with its release on Prime Video. Directed and written by Elan, and produced by BVS N Prasad and Sreenidhi Sagar, under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Rise East Entertainment, respectively, ‘Star’ stars Kavin in the lead role, alongside Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam in pivotal roles.

The film follows the journey of Kalai, a determined young boy from a lower-middle-class family aspiring to become a celebrated star in the Tamil film industry. At the heart of the story is the unbreakable bond between Kalai and his father, Pandian, a photographer, serving as a source of solace, purpose, and redemption amidst life’s struggles. Despite numerous challenges due to his humble origins, Kalai remains undeterred in his pursuit.

Director Elan stated in one of his social media posts that the film ‘Star’ is a tribute to his father, Stills Pandian. He requested viewers not to reveal the three pleasant surprises from the film after watching it. The film’s music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
